Law Students for Technology and Innovation (LFTI) is about improving legal education and legal practice methods for the benefit of our future clients.
Our vision is for Canada to become a world-leader in the provision of legal services. We see technology, human creativity, and legislative will combining to limit the negative influence that income, legal fees, and geography can have on clients’ ability to have justice done in the court of law.
Legal Service Innovation
Our plan is to start by inspiring Canada’s newest entrants to the legal profession — law students — to think about how they can offer legal services better. We want to dispel the concerns surrounding innovation, entrepreneurship, and legal technology, so that tomorrow’s legal professionals embrace new tools and processes to achieve their clients’ goals.
Legal Education Innovation
By graduating high quality students with academic and practice skills, law schools can stop future training costs from being passed onto clients, improve service delivery, and prevent future malpractice suits. One of our priorities is to collect feedback from students and teachers about the law school experience, and to publish any insightful findings.
We are ratified as a member of the Law Students Society (LSS) of Queen’s Faculty of Law and Society of Graduate and Professional Studies (SGPS) of Queen’s University for the 2012-2013 academic year in Kingston, Ontario Canada.
